Here’s hoping some of you are still with me. I still have lots to say, and I’m hoping some people still want to listen to it!

I’m watching Smackdown right now, thanks to the DVR, and it’s looking like a solid show thus far. I like Kofi on Smackdown, editing will help him in some cases and of course he can work with some smaller guys and have some dazzling matches. I’m interested in seeing him work with Drew McIntyre and maybe continuing on with Cody Rhodes. It’s a shame we won’t be seeing the Rhodes Rivalry some internet pundits had predicted, but I don’t see it as a problem, so much as an opportunity in disguise. All things come to those who wait.

I spent close to twelve hours on Monday, in Hagersville, Ontario taking in the Brawl at the Bush. If you follow my page, you know what I’m talking about. Nick Wyman is a class act, first and foremost. He gave me some great access to his talent, and was more than accommodating for anything we needed. Thanks for a great time, Nick. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The show was long, but I thought what it brought to the table was unique, fan oriented, and of course, a great cause as well. While I haven’t gotten a total amount of money raised for the Cancer related group, I’m sure the support was mighty heavy.

The show was fantastic. Matches were fast paced, well worked, and of course, had all the great spots for the kids. Mystery guest Colin Delaney hit some phenomenal moves in his Four Way Match with Johnny Devine, Cody Deaner, and Tyson Dux.

Brutus Beefcake had a classic match up with Jim the Anvil Neidhardt and it was as good as it could be expected. Solid working, classic spots, and of course, the uber cool tights. I must say, Jim was one of the funniest guys there. We had a bit of a chat and I mentioned I was friendly with some of his nieces and nephews. We had a ncie chat, and he was truly cordial.

The other thing I HAVE to mention is Tatanka. The Native American superstar was in total and complete control. I saw some new moves and some classic ones, and he hasn’t missed a step. Apparently, he worked the night before and it was the same story. He’s a well oiled machine, working well in the place he was meant to be. I spoke with him about the Wembly Stadium event and the 80,000 plus that were there for Summer Slam. He said the noise was deafening and the party afterwards was insane. “That was then. You can’t party like that anymore. It was just the way it was at the time.” He says. Jim mentioned he was out with Davey Boy Smith that night and had a few pints himself. Steve Corino and Hillbilly Jim were no shows, although I understand Corino had passport issues and that’s tough on anyone. There was no official word on Jim.

Overall, the show was really long and drawn out in parts. It didn’t keep the pace it needed to, and I did see quite a few families leaving well before the final bell. Which is a shame, because Canadian Extreme had a wicked match with the Highlanders and they missed a real beauty. Kryss Thorn had also worked a show very recently and was still in tip top order ALL the matches he worked that night.

Commercial BREAK!!!!

I pity the fool who doesn't enjoy a balanced breakfast. Ok, I have a serious question and I want some answers on this one. When you watch these cereal comercials and you see the kids got some toast, some orange juice, maybe an extra glass of milk. Heck, I've even seen some fresh furit. Who's getting that much for breakfast on a regular basis? Especially if all you're having is cereal? Any thoughts?

Cntinuing on...

So, May 30th is going to be WICKED awesome. In case you haven’t heard, Alpha 1 will be returning home to the Knights of Columbus Hall on Parkdale and Queenston, to bring Hamilton the BEST in professional wrestling. The line-up, as always is fantastic.

First up, we have a phenomenal tag team match, with the Entourage taking on the tandem of Colin Delaney and the Hornet. This all stems from the first Alpha event, in which Melo’s size 12 shoe was the decisive factor in Ethan’s match with the former WWE Superstar. His choice of partner couldn’t be better in Hornet, who I have been watching since he started, working for the PWE at Kiwanis. He’s matured and his workrate is topnotch. I’m hoping he brings his valet and big Mohawk hairdo with him this time, as it adds to his character and really gets a pop from the kids.

Speaking of the kids, I spoke with a mother at the last event and her child refuses to remove his Hacker glasses. They went on a recent trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls and he wore them everywhere. To the pool and water park and even out for meals. Some of these little ‘Gigabytes’ are absolutely overloading for their favorite Hard Drive Hero. I’ll have more on him next week.

As always, it's ten dollars. You can get all the info on thier Facebook group, event page, and of course at www.alpha-1wrestling.com All of this is just goin to show why Alpha 1 is still the best value in sports entertainment in Hamilton on the independent level.

So in closing, I’ll add my interview with Colin from the Brawl at the Bush. The audio is a little weak, but it’s candid, and it’s straight forward. The arena was enormously loud, and believe it or not, this was the quietest place we could find to do the interview.

Thanks again for reading, and we’ll talk again soon. I promise not to stay away too long.

Questions, Answers, and other Queries...

Questions, Answers, and other Queries...

Nice to finally be back in my own place, after getting booted out by some undesirable. Now, all I have to do is clear up the mess that my unwanted house sitter left behind.

On Saturday, I went down to my local library to do my weekly Smackdown report/review for the Fight Network and Live Audio Wrestling. It’s a job that was given to me by John Pollock, of the LAW, after reading some samples he suggested I send in, during a chance meeting at a Smackdown taping in Hamilton.

While I was mostly finished, I saved my draft and progress to the BlogSpot, as I had planned on adding some videos to it and some other things for the plug at the end of the report. I logged off the library computer, and then went home to enjoy the rest of my Easter Weekend. That being said, I didn’t realize until Easter Monday, that anything had happened.

What happened? Someone decided to play Fat Jack for a little while, and in that time decided to not only post my article with pieces of John Canton’s review sewn in, but also to send it along to the LAW and John Pollock, with my compliments. They also decided to add John as a friend to Facebook, and then post the Blog address around Facebook, Google, Twitter, and the rest of the social Internet. Worst of all, they made it abundantly clear it wasn’t my writing, based on the missing tag line at the end of the piece. I always add something personal, for friends and family to have a chuckle. There’s nothing on the bottom of this one. Heck, at least he left in my Alpha 1 promo.

What has happened in that time? Well, in the last few days I have had the following occur: One person has decided to not only defame me verbally, but also pictorially. This same mouth breather decided he was going to do the very same to my beautiful girlfriend, whom I love with all of my heart, especially since she is standing by me throughout this entire ordeal. Several of you other barbarians decided that you would join in on the witch hunt, and begin the slander and defamation pretty quickly and in some cases quite harshly. I won’t mention names, but to those of you who chose to reach out to me personally, I appreciate and respect that.

The LAW, and summarily, the Fight Network have relived me of my services, and have removed any and all mention of me, my name, and my Blog from their website. I don’t blame them.

People across Facebook have tarred and feathered my family, my friends, my colleagues, and others. You must think I’m the worst person in the world, stealing from someone and trying to use their work as my very own. I don’t blame them.

While I’m sure most of you are chuckling under your breath and thinking bullshit, I understand your skepticisms. To be honest, you read about things like this all the time, and you never think it’s going to happen to you, but Identity Theft does HAPPEN. It has happened! But for those of you, who aren’t convinced, consider this.

All I ever wanted out of life was to be involved in the wrestling industry. Either as a worker, writer, producer, ring boy, whatever. Then, a few years ago, I was severely injured and the dreams of ever actually working in the ring went out the window. So what to do? Write. I always excelled in writing in school, and I had written some for the college I had been attending. Why not?

I did a few articles here and there, and they were well received. I decided at that point, to send some things into some places and see where it went. Some time goes by, and here we are.

So in all honesty, why lie about this? I’ve LOST EVERYTHING. I’ve lost my dream job in my dream career with a group I totally and completely respected. I’ve lost valuable contacts. I’ve lost respect in the wrestling community, and I’ve lost people I thought were friends. You know who you are, and I would have respected you a whole lot more if you would have come to me and asked me personally instead of jumping on the bandwagon with the rest of these rabid barbarians, and their ridiculous ringleader. FYI, I’m not saying John is the ringleader. That person also knows who they are and don’t think I’m done with you yet. We still have to have a LONG talk about your pictures.

So where do the apologies come in?

I want to apologize to Alpha 1 Pro Wrestling. If I have in any way brought bad vibes, bad news, or bad anything to your current product or have in anyway caused a problem for the group, you have only to let me know and I will step down from my position.

I want to apologize to the LAW and The Fight Network, as well as John Pollock. While this entire situation was and is out of my hands, I want you to know how much I appreciate the opportunity, the advice, the chance, and of course, the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD. John, you gaev me the ball, and I ran as hard and as far as I could with it. Someone MADE me fumble.

I want to apologize to Greg Oliver. I’m sure there are things that could have been done to prevent this, and had I done them, I wouldn’t be in this mess. If I have in any way upset you, or let you down, I am eternally apologetic.

I want to apologize to John Canton, again. He and I have spoken, and the situation is understood. He and I have come to terms with the whole issue, and we are both willing to walk away from this, better people for the experience, and hopefully now, a new friend on both sides of this ugly problem.

For those of you who are still with me, I appreciate it and I acknowledge it. I will still be doing random posts, along with a weekly Smackdown Report, even if it isn’t going to be featured on the Fight Network or The LAW, I have respect for this business and this industry and I plan on continuing to follow it and continue to cover it in the best possible way. That would be with my OWN writing, which is in abundance here, and is in other places all around the web. If you want to follow me, feel free.

I’m not going to start speaking badly about anyone, because as I mentioned above, I’m sure things could have been done to better safeguard this, but things have happened and there is nothing that can be done about it now. That, and I refuse to sink to the lowly levels of depravity that some have chosen to sink to. All I can do is apologize for something that wasn’t really or entirely my fault, and hope that we can all move on from there.

If you can’t do it, I don’t blame you.

Jeff Goodridge is a freelance writer and a lifelong wrestling fan. One time, in London, he and his friend Blair argued about who was the better tag team, The Killer Bee’s or Strike Force. There was no real, serious outcome to the conversation.
